Wood Panels

PLYWOOD (HEAVY)
Plywood is manufactured from thin layers of wood veneers glued together with resin. A heavyweight plywood uses hardwood veneers such as Meranti, Keruing and many other species which have high planar strength and impact resistance. It has excellent surface hardness and wear-resistance which makes it suitable for heavy duty work.

PLYWOOD (LIGHT)
Light plywood uses Falcata veneers which are not only lightweight, but also strong. It is suitable for interior use where weight savings is crucial. It has a pale whitish to light brown colour tone with no prominent grains or features.

BLOCKBOARD
Blockboard uses softwood strips, joined side by side and bonded together with thin veneers on both top and bottom. It is usually light in weight and relatively straight. Hence, it’s commonly used by carpenters to make cabinet doors. Some carpenters use it to make cabinet structures as it does not warp much compared to plywood.

BENDING PLYWOOD
A bending plywood is made using several veneers overlaying in the same directions which give the flexibility to bend and create shapes. It’s commonly used for making furniture, reception counters or architectural features. Its smaller thickness allows more bending. However, if the bend is too tight, it could result in higher tension.

MARINE PLYWOOD (BS1088 GRADE)
A marine plywood is manufactured with a durable face, core veneers and with few defects and performs best in both humid and wet conditions. It is commonly made with tropical hardwood veneers and bonded with Weather and Boil Proof (WBP) glue which give the water resistance properties. A BS1088 is a respected standard which proves its quality of products.

WHITE POLYESTER COATED SURFACE
A coat of white polyester paint is applied on either side of a plywood or blockboard. It is commonly used in cabinets, shelves and interior vehicles. The layer of paint makes cleaning easier.
Surface Finish

WHITE PVC LAMINATED SURFACE
A thin layer of PVC sheet is laminated on either side of the plywood or blockboard. It’s a common choice of material by many carpenters due to its affordability. It is used to make cabinets, table tops, and shelves.

FILM FACE PLYWOOD
An exterior plywood used in building and construction. A special film coating made from phenol or melamine on both sides to provide a higher resistance to moisture. Commonly used for concrete casting.
Engineered Panel

GYPSUM BOARD
A building material used for wall, ceiling, partition systems in residentials and commercial structures

NATURAL VENEER PLYWOOD
These natural veneers are made from various species. As part of the natural wood characteristic, each grain and colour varies accordingly even though they are the same species. This is because each tree/log is different. The thickness of the veneer is only 0.4mm with paper backing in 2ft x 8ft rolls which makes it easier to laminate onto wood surfaces. List of species: Ash, Red Beech, White Beech, Cherry, Maple, Nyatoh, Oak, Clear Pine, Knotty Pine, Teak and Walnut.

OSB BOARD
Made up of cross-oriented layers of thin wooden strips compressed and bonded together with wax and resin adhesives. These boards are used to enhance aesthetic designs such as wall features. It can also be used to make products like tables and cabinets.

DECORATIVE PVC LAMINATED SURFACE
A PVC sheet with decorative patterns on the surface. These are commonly seen and used for internal cabinets as it adds colour and aesthetic to a design. Colours may differ with actual products.

WECO FOAM BOARD
WECO foam board is a closed cell foamed PVC consisting of a soft foamed PVC core progressively getting hard under a certain set temperature. It is 100% waterproof, termite proof, zero shrinkage and swelling and most importantly, toxic free. Easy to work with and can be used in multiple industries such as advertising, furniture and building sectors.
